Question asked here is not understandable for most players therefore i give up and end the conversation.

China and Russia recently had military reforms which included reorganization, resizing and reducing military districts[regions]. I bring this up because our current world map in Atwar is based on military districts in Russia and China [while all others are based on national borders except USA and Brazil].

OLD REGIONS (jinan and nanjing are merged in atwar, you already know that)

Volga and Ural regions separated in atwar

NEW REGIONS

As you can see, China reduced its regions from 6 to 5, while Russia reduced from 7 to 4. Do you think this can be playable in Atwar gamestyle? My opinion is positive.

Pros: more cities in the region, more income, larger bonus, more troops during reinf
Cons: if regional capital is captured you are unable to use all cities in the region for reinf, income plummet

If self-called 'competitive' players want to play competitive clan wars go make custom map, that's what it is for. Standard map reflect contemporary World.

P.S.
Also maybe add Crimea as part of Russia: South (just like Kalinigrad is part of Russia: Northwest). Latest changes were flag update for Libya and South Sudan added, while its been 2 years for Crimea change.

Should we mold the game according to competitiveness or mold competitiveness according to game?

I don't really know what type of effect this will have, to change the mechanics in this way. Speaking about the Eu metagame, a lot of expansions that used this trick will become harder (if not impossible) to be done. Will players adapt or quit? I guess we will need to wait till HTML to see the answer...

Players will adapt and come up with new tricks, trust me. As for those who won't, well, let me just say we will not be reintroducing old bugs/exploits back just for the sake of it, that's just mental.

At the end it's all up to admins to decide what to do with their game. This is just one of the many many times in atWar history where admins elected the rest of the game over 'competitive' Eu

Though I hardly doubt this happens with the current situation with the map editor...

From a pragmatic perspective, I'd just like to note that the modern world changes very, very quickly.

It's absurd to think that the developers can keep up with every significant change in the state of the world by changing the map.

ya, just 20% of players left the game after html update, that's the adaption, and all the new comers that were coming after html like it was predicted, are just gone, and it was the main argument from people like you who were supporting admins that time, i don't know anyone from that period of time....
