The beginner's room is populated by two groups, alts and new players. Alts are there because the main room is dead when server population is low, forcing players without a lot of time to wait for a game they can play to simply not be able to play. This is a personal problem as some of my most recent forum posts have echoed that sentiment. I had a thread about moving the rank range down to 5 or even back to 3 or 4, but through the conversation I came up with an idea. Why not just let us choose our own rank ranges for games? I think that if standard members could change the rank ranges of the game, we could close the beginner's room altogether and simply give new players the ability to cap the ranks to their games individually without making half of the player base suffer.

Sounds like server population is your issue here as being able to set your own rank isn't going to force away the good players/alts. Anyways' Clovis should fix the low server population bug next.

Noobs won't know about rank caps, and will probably not have the knowledge to join specific low rank games. I think you're underestimating how nooby low ranks are XD. They would never survive in main room

Normal players should get to change rank limits like if you want to make a game with no r4s are r5s you dont have to kick them

You're missing the point, consolidating both rooms into one and allowing players to set their own rank limits will cause the one room to actually be populated with games.
