My idea is to input how much sp you (you being the player) have earned on your stats page in a certain amount of time. I.E daily, weekly, monthly (like the top 10, but now for everyone) If storing data like this creates lag, then make it for a certain rank (like rank 5) for this feature to actually appear. However, if a person is inactive for 2 weeks (or I guess a month) , the data can be deleted and will stop being tracked.. The previous sentence was only for fixing if this created lag issues.

Make a sp per hour rate?

Perhaps I may have just read this wrong but from what I am understanding you want sp earned to be logged however, can't you just see how much sp you have earned in your games by going to your profile and looking at the game history? In addition, it tells you how many days or hours ago the game was. How would your idea be different?

True, in a sense. This just makes it easier to calculate. Also my idea shows you for the month and if you play more than X games in a month than what the profile shows, it allows access to all those games too. Also, it would help for those who when they have time, like to play a lot of atwar and see if how close they are to most sp earned in X (hours)/days/weeks/month. I was originally going to think of how to implement some sort of sp graph but I didn't really care as I don't exactly care about sp that much. Again, this is just for efficiency when it comes to seeing your sp. If you play atwar for a certain amount of time. You can manually calculate time and sp in games to see how much sp you want to earn per turn.

Wouldn't that be kind of hard considering they would have to find how to see all previous turn times played? Or I am considering you mean in the sense that it starts from 0 for everyone once it is implemented. I will consider adding it to the topic but I also have a couple questions. 1. I see how they would start the timer of hours played, being it starts once the game your in starts, but what happens if you abandon the game, does the time count still or does it leave just like the sp? 2. (In a way adding on to the first scenario, In this case the timer stops if they abandon the game, but still gets added on to the amount of hours played.) How will casual players, (I don't play casual games) be documented? Will the timer start as they join back in for their turn and stop when they end and leave, or will it keep running until that game ends. ^ If you do mean that way then this isn't a question. 3. Are you documenting time from being in an actual game where you move units, or from the selection screen and lobbies to the time you leave those lobbies? 4. Would this be relevant? (Considering in the stats page there is a turns played stat)

A rate would be hard, considering you have games that are longer than 1 hour and people who sleep, have school, etc... Like I said in response to dereny's post you could always calculate that. A better rate would be daily or monthly. I.E (SP EARNED in X time period)/(X time period ) = Sp per time period (X) rate. IF you are asking if this idea is a rate, then no, it is just a display of how much sp you earned in X times being daily, weekly, and monthly with the possibility to hourly.

Wait, let me rephrase that "Sp per hour Played rate"?? I think it's much more useful to have a rate than to see how much quantity one has won in an entire month

Well I accidentally canceled my first message but basically I have to say this. Over time, time played won't do much as the rate will most likely fall a lot (through fun games), and doesn't tell you how much you earned. It is better to have more information than a specific amount when it comes to sp. While in theory your idea is nice, on the field it could go wrong fast. I will add your idea but the original idea would be the focus as it is more useful to have the overall sp in a (possibly hour) day/week/month than in a rate because you get how much sp you got that hour and from there could calculate your sp rate. Also, like the post in response to el creyente, there wouldn't be much relevancy in graphing your game time played as each turn time is different and you can check turn amounts but not times. I think a better rate would be sp per (X amount of turns played) rate, but that just creates a more specific, and in essence worst rate because now you can't even see the time, nor the variation of turns. Outlying factors such as the ability to leave, etc.. may be looked at as," well it is part of the game and should connect to the rate." But then the rate doesn't show you truly how much sp you get per each hour played, unlike the overall sp per hour for that hour. Maybe if the rate reset every so often. Sorry if what I am saying sounded weird but I couldn't really figure out how to word it. Also I am pretty sure it is very simple to see why, fast, it will be better to how much quantity one has won in an entire month or week than a rate.

The issue is that you may play for just one day during a whole month... so it should be per X time played

If you play just one day during a whole month then I doubt you will be looking for this stat. Also if you play for just one day during a whole month, a rate wouldn't help as you are just adding your now inaccurate previous times.... If you play for one day, atleast with this you could see how much sp you got in that day (or possibly hour depending on how they make it update).
