I understand that Clan's are going to be added into the game soon. I wanna post to say that I wanna start/join a clan as soon as I can. Does anyone else wanna help me start a clan in Afterwind? soooo.... my profile: http://afterwind.com/users/profile.php?user_id=580 http://afterwind.com/users/ I'm up there on the first page of users... so I'm one of the more active players.

I like your enthusiasm The thing with clans is that at the moment we're not quite sure what they are good for, without major changes to the game (such as Okmera's Clan wars idea. What we can arrange at the moment are: some kind of community page with players list and various stats, separate forum, separate global chat channel. That's where ideas end, at the moment. Of course, more will be added over time, but perhaps you can suggest something that won't require weeks of work and can be added with the initial version. Also, clans obviously won't be named 'clans'. At the moment, we're thinking to name them 'alliances', and rename the current in-game alliances into 'pacts' to avoid confusion. Or it can be the other way around.

A separate stats page for clans would be nice. The most important thing for clans in the beginning is for there to be other clans to fight. That way we can have tournaments or big matches where we can fight for dominance.

The problem though is that clan members will be all too likely to team up against other players in normal games. AKA "pub-stomping."

This is rather unavoidable, even without clans. The solution to this is the public diplomacy menu, where you can see all alliances. If there's an obvious big alliance, all the other players should simply ally against it.

I do not think this is as big as a problem as you guys make out. If there are clan tags obviously I am going to know there allied when they join the game. I can then team up against them with other people. It may actually make the game harder for them because I am unlikely to Allie with another clan because his friend may join and i will get stomped. Imo the word pacts and alliances is not as good as the word clans and alliances. The reasoning behind this is alliance already have a meaning for players and to change it around would make it confusing. For people joining both clans and alliances have meanings that people can relate to. Clans and alliances seem the best names to me.

I'd gladly play games together with my clansmates as allies. I'd also however love playing games where I crush them. The 'alliance' checkbox (at game creation) can always be deselected...

Another aspect to clans in normal games, is obvously we cant pack all the heavy weights into one or two clans. so clans should be composed of 1 or 2 level 7 8, 3 or 4 level 6-3 and as many lower rank players. any what this all boils down to is personally in a normal game i ally with those who i either know to be strong players (not easily beaten) or those that it would be too much trouble to take on at the begining. so unless my clan members were people i could rely on to hold thier ground i wouldnt be as likely to ally with them unless they were in the above reasons

A Clan point board would be cool... With special trophies or upgrades or something like that... or better yet... setup two version of the game a normal mode and clan mode, in normal mode its the regular game no changes in clan mode all SP is shared between the clans... example upgrade one which i think is submarine costs 50 SP, would now cost 500SP but once unlocked its shared with the entire team. Another aspect would be setup is clan sizes to add another spot its X amount of SP. Controlling clan sizes would help encourage people to create there own/join a smaller clan making more clan battles... Every month/week there could be a battle between the clans over a few days where the winner would earn x amount of SP... all SP in clan mode stays in clan mode and wouldn't transfer over into normal mode.

no you can't it would been better if you started a new thread for this question than to post it in a dead thread
---- Things that happened can't be changed, look forward and search for what can fix the issue you caused in the past.
