Italy expansion ideas?

Preferably for 3vs3, but 1vs1 expansions are welcome. Beside full rush on Madrid and full rush on Greece I know nothing about ita, always end up doing some random moves in balkans...

Im not very good at italy either but it all depends on the picks. going against germany theres obviously the austria/czech rush, or the sm italy to denmark is always fun. you can go light benelux with coordination from ally. now italys largest influence zone is balkans, going against turkey. i often just go small balkans and from there start hassling turkey. a good expansion too is stacking one of the big countries in balkans (serbia, bulg, romania) and light on small balkans. croatia is crucial for safety coz split, and swiss is good for reinforcing your northern cities. hungary is also a safe bet because turk/ukr usually wouldnt stack

what these are good tips, you should write them down. Seriously tho, after 1500 duels and 3 years on this game, if you cant play one of the basic europe+ countries standard strats then i doubt theres much we can do to help you.

I am planning to try doing all the collection of expansions that I am missing in few days, but I barely know about those type of countries... Italy is the hardest.

Well I'm pretty sure "inverse rankism" doesn't work in this context. It's pretty simple, rank 12 - 1 Million Strategy Points collected throughout 3 years of experience. dunno if i should take this seriously. but i'd definitely respond different to a legit low rank wanting help.

I only know the basic about Italy, what can be deduced. This knowledge is different from a player that had played Italy a lot of times and know a lot about it. I can only do what is deducible (Balkans) or what I've see players doing it before because it is a common move (Rush Greece and Austria).

I've player Italy too few times to deduce that you can go Poland... or even Rush Benelux. Those aren't common moves. Maybe if I spend a lot of times playing just Italy, I get to discover it, but I don't have that kind of motivation now. I am already struggling with Spain expansions. France will be a challenge. Unlike UK, Germ, Turkey, the rest of the countries varies their game-play a lot depending on the picks. Spain is probably the less affected. France and Italy are different.

I want to make a thread with quality. That had always be one of my goals... I guess you and hdrakon know this better than anyone else, after all your two were the ones who convinced me to reveal my first two guide to public... I've looked for the players who know about those countries before, you saw what happened with Ukraine. The same history is repeating with Italy.

I won't make a guide about something I don't know, that's why I want to learn italy. That's why I've asked for help here. Maybe all those comments are just based on my reputation... But at least, I tried.

Lol thats a lie, i believe my encouragement amounted to something along the lines of "do whatever you like".

and clovis... as a r12 with 1500 duels and a couple 100 europe cws, if you cant look at a country and your opponents pick(s) and figure out what to do from there then theres no hope for you. Experience with a country doesnt amount to much once you reach a certain point.

I believe there's nothing wrong with asking. Doesn't matter the rank, a person can always learn something new. If you won't help, then don't comment.

I know a good one that can take down germany easy if you play it right.France,spain,wf austria,go balkan etc etc

I love the negativity this game generates. 20 posts and I can barely find 2 replies that are constructive or useful. Any beginner of this game might come here to get ideas on how to play Italy would instead look at all trolling and shit talking. If you don't think you can provide a meaning full answer don't bother replying.

To Clovis : Have look at your Syndicate forums on Italy topic. I remember Spart once talking about the 5 different ways of playing Italy.

Personally the known ways of playing of Italy all depends on who your enemy are.

One way is pd/imp going for balkans. You can either rush Austria or Serbia or play safe with hungary crotia.
Another is LB rushing Paris . You can rush upto 40inf gen which is strong for 1st turn.
Next is nc spain rush. Although it can also be pd.
One way I like playing when germany and turkey are allied is sm Italy. You can go for hungary and poland while walling Italian cities. Being SM the advantage is range isn't a problem. So you keep ukraine disturbed for turkey to take advantage. Disadvantage is its very costly. I have tried it 3 times and got killed all 3 times but still helped turkey kill off ukraine.

There maybe even more ways but people don't play italy a lot so finding good expansions can be a challenge.

Anyway, I really appreciate the reply of players (specifically low ranks) that grave me helpful hints, in this thread and in-game. I've been playing Italy and also watched several players playing Italy, so I kinda understand the gameplay now.

Rush paris. I recommend PD so you can defend after and potentially send good money to your east, you can get about ~40 infs I believe. make 2 trans and 1 AT. this is if you're gonna get help from your germ/uk, you'd lose against a full spain/uk rush.
rush madrid
rush poland. yes, rushing poland. don't do this at home without the help of an experienced rusher though
rush austria
rush greece
rush bulgaria
rush serbia
go balkans with normal expansion

my favorite ones are going balkans, rushing poland, rushing paris and rushing serbia. I hate rushing madrid personally, it almost never works since it's obvious as fuck and 99% of frances know this and will play around it.
yes I "rush" neutrals a lot. I don't like doing normal expansions, because it's risky imo. I usually try to rush the less expected country and/or the country I want to secure the most.

There is no set way to play italy, 3v3 wise it is completely dependent on who your allies are.

Things you should know

1.Strategy choice depending on scenario you are actually quite flexible, I would list, PD IMP IF NC SM GC as all viable in the right circumstance

2.imo* a defensive Italy long term is a weak Italy - really is a support country - by support I mean should be uses to supplement an attack aiding someone else-dont get stuck into the 1v1 1v1 1v1 mentality (obviously)

3. Use minimal trans - and likewise dont wander too far

4. Smart walls -duh

5. GAMBLE
