Asia 3k is probably balanced

News: Was trying PD Afghanistan when I found out an interesting trick that allows me to get extra money and skip one sea transport. Did quite well against one GW Asia player.

In 5k Afghanistan will for sure beat NK or any other eastern asian country. But what if I tell you that Afghanistan can also beat those countries in 3k?

Some facts about Imperialist Afghanistan:

1. The fight will be in Burma or Thailand (if China is slow you can obtain Thailand before him in Turn 7 or 8). Then, after chinese push, it will be established in Bangladesh and that part of India for a long time of the game.
2. Moscow can be obtained in Turn 10 (depends on your focus).
3. Full india can be obtained in Turn 9 (depends on your focus).
4. Indian reinforcements is enough to hold Chinese front while expanding in russia and middle east.
5. Turn 8: Around 1.5k economy (one quarter of what GW NK would have). More reinforcements than NK, and this difference can only get bigger.
6. After getting Moscow, if China haven't pushed you out of Burma and or Bangladesh, then the game is kinda won for you. Get full middle east and start sending troops there. You will eventually outnumber chinese player in one or two weeks.

What do you guys thinks?

GW afghanistan is also very good, though you can only do the jump for moscow by sacrificing your expansion in India. A fast-expansionist NK will also get bangladesh before you, if you are GW.

Unlike you, I don't stack the knowledge in a clan. Sure Illyria and SM probably have lots of counters and expansions for every breaking pick, and probably knew tricks long ago before they were made public.

1. Arabian gulf is also another source of money. There are countries there like qatar and bahrein that have a very high income for being one unit city. Anyway, you can't win if you only expand in India.

2. There is a very interesting thread called "How to Invade India the Right Way". If you read it, you will find out that the cities you need aren't as far as you think. http://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=3101

3. Why would you cross india? The idea is to get India, Arabian Gulf and russia to fight Eastern asians. You can try taking Nepal / Bhunei and from there go Bangladesh, then Burma, then Thailand (if china not here yet), but taking any Indian city in this direction is very worthless since they are poor (read the link I've posted). I usually skip them and go for the richest ones, then start taking them when I have the troops and money available.

4. I believe the most important part of China and also Japan are infantry cities. They are also all 8-units-cities. Unlike India though, they are spreaded in a bigger area so it takes you longer to grab them (With wulumuqi being incredibly far). Anyway, North Korea is meant to get both Shangai and Tokyo as soon as possible since they are literally the 1st and 2nd richest cities of default map.

5. I've beat several high ranks already with afghanistan vs their korea. But with GW, not IMP. It becomes a little harder and precise to do the jump for moscow but you can do it if planned well. Every single cent decides how long it will take you to get it.

GW Afghanistan is way stronger than I though. With some rangeskills (that aren't available in HTML, by the way) it can even bypass IMP expansion by very far. I'll record a video with my first 10 turns as GW Afghanistan aswell as update the original thread.

SM NK vs GW Afghanistan -


Mauz had some very bad rolls in T2 but we will rematch later. If mauzer wins then SM NK is good. But yes answering your question, I'd say GW Afghanistan can beat SM NK.

In fact from the lattest 6 or 7 match I've had against good NK's I've only lost once against Critical (and it was because I lost the important turn 4 due to desktop screen froze bug....). I'd say the hardest matchup for GW afghanistan would'be GW NK.

Well you are just saying that it proves nothing, but you aren't even saying why it doesn't proves anything, nor why the gameplay here is balanced/unbalanced.

it is known that high rank =/= good player (yeah you beat mauzer but, like you said he had bad rolls on T2), thats all
