VETOED
~Consul Falavious Marcus addresses the Senate:~
"I veto the proposal of a land bill. With enemies at our door steps, the loss of favour with the Gods, and the lack of funds necessary to even build up and maintain new legions and fleets, the State cannot afford to subsidize farmers when we can hardly subsidize our citizens fighting in the field."
Note: A tribune can override this veto

Would just like to point out that myself and Tirpitz are immune to disaster rolls vs Macedonia.. The fact neither of us are chosen to fight them is ridiculous
You only need death to fight Carthage and I'm personally not bothered about fighting gauls that much... You could give someone else a shot

I would like to ask the Senate, why would you elect a man as Dictator who does not serve Rome, but only himself?
Senator Gaius Antonius has never once spent any of his talents on Rome, he has only ever spent his talents on bribes for first making Senator Aquila Phoenicus Dictator, then himself,
This conduct is not that of a Roman Senator, but that of a Carthaginian or Phoenician merchant, only these people would resort to bribery while giving nothing to their state.
I furthermore question the Consuls not spending more of the Roman treasury on raising new Legions, is that supposed to be some sort of coercion to further ensure Gaius Antonius' position as Dictator, or perhaps King, of Rome?

I'm sorry I failed to defeat Carthage by a 1....
We're smart enough to prevent Tunder going too far with his power.
I question why you would need to cry over it when we evidently need dictator powers to overcome some of our opponents, given previous failures.
I would also like to point out that before becoming Dictator I've given 5 talents to Rome... and I'm broke as it is....
I also kept you in charge against the Gauls, despite your incompetence and clinging to command against Carthage in the previous game which preceded our downfall.
If Tunder can defeat Carthage this turn, whether he is scheming or not we should encourage his service, not question his motives.
He is unable to claim anything for himself out of the concessions. He will be unable to effectively rebel because he is broke and he will need to use death1812 to achieve the battle rolls he needs against Carthage to begin with.... Tunder is in no position to screw the rest of us... so why would you need to question him?
As far as I'm concerned everyone playing the 3rd attempt at this game just wants to make it past the first era

"I suggest the Consuls remove unworthy Gaius Octavius, and replace him back with the rightful commander Publius Marius who has been denied battle for years unjustly. The gauls in italy is simply an intolerable issue and must be resolved at once, while the other two wars should not be ignored either. Put the large treasury to use!
Also, I as Censor will prosecute those I feel have held their concessions for too long or have been immoral. Long live the Republic."
