I skimmed through and didn't see anything about it, and I'm not entirely sure it's viable since from what I can see this game is trying to stay real world. But.. what about a mech-type unit? It'd have strong offense and defense but be exceptionally expensive, and you'd have to buy it for a large sum of SP (Like other units). Might be a bit redundant, or simply not fit the theme of the game, but I figured I'd throw it out there and see what other people thought. P.S. By mech I mean like Mechwarrior, big lumbering bipedal tanks essentially. Guess the specifics don't matter since they're just little pictures though, but it helps convey why I think it'd have high offense and defense. Sorry for the rambling.

It's not enough for a unit to be 'cool', it has to be unique. That said, we do plan to have mechs, just as rare units.

Fair enough, but glad to hear that mechs will make an appearance, but what does 'rare unit' mean? Will it be a unit you buy with SP? A unit you gain from using a specific strategy? A unit gained by controlling a specific region? Or are we not allowed to know specifics? :O

We're still working on specifics, but most likely rare units will be randomly awarded for capturing cities, or by redeeming special cards (which will also be randomly awarded).

Sounds good, although I personally would like it if I could just buy it with SP, but hell I'm happy enough knowing I'll be able to use mechs eventually, thanks for the exceptionally quick (seriously o.o) responses.

I really like the idea of these cards actually. Will we be able to make combinations of cards?

No, that would be way too Risk'y Instead, we'll make it possible to collect cities/countries on your personal map.

Well... I still think making them a unit you can buy with SP would be better, I wanna mass produce mechs instead of lowely tanks How do cards work? Like, if I get a card for mechs does it allow me to build mechs in that one game? Or does it simply give me a few mechs to use and when they're gone, they're gone?

Maybe an AirSuperiority unit, idea being an air unit used in a CAP [CombatAirPatrol] role...sought of like the AWACS[SentryUnit] now in the game but would have additional strike capability within a certain radius-of-detection, whereas the Sentry can only detect, the AS unit would detect and strike[of course only other air units]...also while in that frame of thought also why not a CAS[CloseAirSupport] unit that would give ground units within a certain radius additional attack/defense power/points/or whatever you choose to call it...like along the lines of a AC130 Gunship-type...being an USAF veteran[and avid wargamer] more air units of this type would[i think anyway] add to the tactical/strategic aspects of what's already an outstanding game and the CAP unit could be used to defense the CAS unit as well as protect it and would add more to the Bomber units as well in the same attack/defense roles adding as escorts/interceptors and would make the Sentry unit more valuable in that it could be used effectively to "scramble" the CAP units to intercept Bombers/Transports [or if upgraded] Battleships en route for a sought of AirDefenseNetwork[or maybe have a dedicated NavalDectionAirUnit(your now Sentry) AND a dedicated AirDetectionAirUnit(an AWACS-type) that could detect airborne threats]...another suggestion would be naval: an AirCarrier unit which could project AirPower from the sea with submarine units now being able to have a naval support role[to protect sea units] making NavalWarfare a more interesting aspect of the game as well....the AC unit would as well have a certain radius of attack on land as well as at sea and in the air and upgrades could be added to make them subhunters as well and could be upgraded to attack Battleship units with more lethality[speaking of upgrades, maybe have Tomahawk or other LongRange missle capability added to Battleships and Submarines to be used against garrisoned cities to augment the Bombers capability or be used in lieu of Bombers in that bombers have to be over their target in HarmsWay whereas LongRangeMissle/Artillery units would have a sought of StandOff capability/effect and therefore would have to be directly assaulted to be eliminated by lets say Marine units which have that stealth ability already built into them aka SEAL/SAS etc] these could be Upgrades OR new units[tho you've already nixed new unit additions, a shame]...these suggestions would add to the RISK/Civilization feel that of another good "wargame"--Harpoon--which tho primarily a NavalSimulator did add some AirWarfare and some[tho not much] GroundWarfare...

Because these are mechs and who doesn't like giant bipedal tanks. And they're not invisible. After all, I don't hate marines because they're essentially tanks. I hate them because they're essentially tanks. Confusing I know. But naw, seriously, it's not their stats that bother me, it's the fact that they're SUPPOSE to be a unique unit, but as is they aren't. If they were intended to be an invisible tank, I wouldn't care. But it flat out says every unit must be unique, which marines aren't. That's why I hate them. I have no problem with there being units that are essentially "a tank but stronger", if that's their intended role.

I think an interceptor would be cool, but there'd be some issue of making anti-air obsolete. To be honest i wouldn't mind removal of anti air in favor of an interceptor with maybe a crazy bonus against air transports and bombers but low attack from everything else- also when combined with bombers or transports their defense should be improved making it an escort unit. Theres probably way more balancing issues but this is just a suggestion

A decent idea in my opinion could be a new land unit, the truck, to transport infantry, militia (maybe marines too): Attack: 1 Defence: 2 ARB: 3 HP: 7 Range: 10 Capcity: 5-10 (upgrade +5) Cost: 250

Hey, I was just going to post a similar suggestion . I also think that land transport would be a good additional unit. Just imagine the possibilities for a blitzkrieg . The distances that our units have to march are just like way too big. I mean, poor men ! No, seriously, land transport really is missing. At least something like railways for troop movement between cities or so.

How about adding a New intermediat Phase to the game called the counter mesure turn and alow some units to have the ability to redirect there actions during this Phase for example i got britton and im bombing france Player with france has his bombers going tward germany. END TURN Contermesures turn starts. all the attacks are now displayed on the map that are NOT stelthy and France sees i have bombers heading to hit his capital. cso he calls off the strike on germany so his bombers will be in his capital to defend my strike. END CONTERMESURES Next turn starts france holds onto capital and germany never gets bombed. turn starts
