A problem has come up in the casual community is that casual players cannot compete for competitive awards. While clans such as Casual Ties, French Power, Warmongers Inc, and The Immortals are showing interest in the casual cw scene, casual cw only clans will never be able to compete on the scale as Aristocrats and Epic Clan (amongst other clans). Same goes for the duel season. I am putting forth an idea to give competitive casual players a chance to show their skills, or just actually get a chance to compete in something. My idea goes as follows: A duel season limited to just casual games. No need for any changes to the website, it can act like a tourney. If enough people participate, I am sure mods will award the winners a trophy. Anyone can play, however, to keep it fair, you cannot win a trophy in both the casual and quick duel seasons. (For example, if Player X finishes 2nd in the casual duel season, and 1st in the quick duel season, he can chose between which trophy he wants to keep). Settings: To keep it simple, only games played on the world map will be counted. It doesn't matter the preset/money settings, as long as its on the world map. To signify that the game counts towards the CDL, the title of the game should make note of the structure of the game (such as Casual Duel League EU+ 10k). All games in this category must be 1v1, or they dont matter to the CDL. The casual game duel setting is bugged, so a normal game setting is ok. Points: 1 point for win 0 points for tie -1 point for loss Simple. Keeps it easy to count. Season Length: If this passes approval, we will run the league over a 6 month period from a starting date that will be determined after approval. This gives times for casual duels, as they can take months at a time. Rule notice: These rules will have to be strictly followed when playing in the CDL. Any break of the rule will disqualify a player from the rest of the season, and if it is recorded in the final month of the duel season, it will disqualify the rule breaker for the next season as well. List of Rules: 1. No wall blocking or entering the land of your opponent on turn 1. - Wall Blocking consists of putting a unit next to your opponents city to keep them from walling. While this is ok on most turns, doing it on turn 1 gives an unfair advantage. This practice is frowned upon by competitive players, and will not be tolerated in the CDL. - Entering the land of your opponent turn 1 is pretty straight forward... just dont do it. 2. The host cannot build units on turn 1 except in the case that his opponent joined at turn 0. This is a measure to prevent unfair advantages from being the host. 3. No alternate accounts are allowed to play, you may only use your main account. At the end of each season, alts in standings will be removed by moderators even it means only 5 true casual players played in the season, making it look bad. 4. A player will follow all the rules listed at http://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=1843, and is responsible for checking them regularly in case of updates. 5. All wins must be accompanied by a specific screenshot. The victory screen with the game options menu open to show the game name. Any games without this screenshot will be ignored. 6. This rulebook is subject to have rules added. All rules will be followed in future, and you accept this by competing in the CDL. Rule notice: These rules will have to be strictly followed when playing in the CDL. Any break of the rule will disqualify a player from the rest of the season, and if it is recorded in the final month of the duel season, it will disqualify the rule breaker for the next season as well.
