Seems like too much work for them either way. Maybe if there was a way to create mods for forums alone, they could make you forum mod and you could help clean it.

Previous two threads would have been deleted. Was proposed and discussed with Brianwl back in 2015 (January-February). The idea was:

Actually i was thinking of a forum where anything could be discussed (except off-topic stuff) but would be heavily moderated (ie the exact opposite of off-topic)

I like the idea, but what makes it any different than General Discussion? Is that forum not supposed to be moderated as well?

What better than self-moderation? By the creator of each new topic.

I agree I have compulsive micro-managing, No troll would go undeleted, but aswell, the option to ban trolls would need to be implimented, maybe a per post ban instead of a universal one, that way your not deleting the same trolls messages over and over, and no one can claim abuse ad they are only banned from tgat particular post.

Could be added to the banlist: ignore, ban from hosted game, ban from own map/scenario, ban from created thread.

Interesting comment there... Change of stance?
Still, I always believed that if the creator itself request mods to clean up his topic, mods should do it. Why wouldn't that be the case? At anytime the given creator could just as well delete the thread and re-post, sacrifying valuable comments along with the trashtalk. So I still don't understand what "speech of freedom" are mods trying to defend there. Not necessarily saying that if you post in my thread, your post is mine. But more like if you post on my thread, you need to follow certain rules...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I've played you many times but i didnt pay any particular attention to your gameplay until recently when you decided to become so vocal on the forums. You are one of those high ranks who i would confidently expect to stomp over in any situation. That recent cw where i had killed you safely without taking any risks by t5 was a good example. Perhaps 2017 Laochra will start being a gentlemen, specially to low ranks

Where did i imply i was a gentleman? I can be a gentleman, but i choose not to be. Dickhead. edit: btw is this your new thing. Looking around the forums for reasons to try and have a go at me(and failing miserably). 2 can play at that game.

case 1: Player creates a heil hitler thread. Like minded players post their support of hitler. Some players argue against hitler and that he is a bad guy. Creator complains asking their posts be removed. ....... ....... ....... case 1997 Player creates thread claiming clovis is a moron. The community posts in agreement Clovis argues that he is not a moron. Thread creator asks mods to clean his thread of morons.

Mods lock/delete the creator's thread because posting about hitler is forbidden by the rules. Although I don't remember the specific rule, chess/safari can confirm this.
Mods lock/delete the creator's thread because pillory against other's players is forbidden by rule. But I get where you're going. So instead I'm gonna give you a real example:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Laochra 2017 ladies and gentlemen. "I can prove this, but i choose not to".

No change of stance, just supporting self-moderation in specific issues: justified map/scenario ban, free ban from hosted games, free ignore option, self-moderated threads in specific section of forum. No, moderators cannot follow blindly every request to clean-up a topic. If thread is not against rules, on what basis can a deletion be grounded?

When you say "against the rules", do you refer to the general rules? If so, then my answer is simply on the grounds of the thread's specific rules (which is my suggestion). This is already happening in some parts of the forums. Moderators implemented thread-specific rules in threads such as the Banlist appeal thread or some ad-hoc threads created due to events (e.g, strategy threads, Ask-Us-Anything, some CW drama thread, and so on). You could make a post and your post can be about the thread's topic or even in accordance with the general rules, yet still deleted by mods because it doesn't fits the thread-specific rules. Another good example is the Fun Screenshot thread. The creator goes to mods from time to time to get his thread cleaned from non-screenshot comments, and moderators attend his call.
