We should all support scottish independence, they suffered enough under english boots.

I hope they will give movie ''Braveheart'' on the scottish TV day before referendum.

This is so incorrect. Scotland alone will quite literally destroy it. Their progressive pseudo nationalist party which bases its nationalism on self victim hood rather than pride and strength will no long have access to British subsidies. They will still be subservient to the EU, they will no longer have the pound and their social democratic policies will ruin them.

I am slowly coming around to the conclusion that this has to happen. I love my Celtic brethren and we all mutually have to deal with these wretched parties of little substance. But the status quo must be opposed, Scottish independence wont save Scotland, it will make it worse but it will destroy a Labour base. It will ruin the Conservatives who lost Scotland under their watch. It will utterly wreck the political shape of Britain, leaving it ripe for radicalism.

Of course, it will be my brand of radicalism.

I read a editorial by Nigel Farage, can't find it anymore but he says that Scotland's new masters will become Brussels instead of London, interesting.

Personally, i think scotlands economy would be ruined from breaking off from the UK but i do have one question. I have always had a hard time understanding the relationship between scotland, england, wales, and northern ireland. how exactly does the government operate? i know its a constitutional monarchy but I was wondering how each section(or state/country?) is represented in the overall government (if they are represented at all). I always had the impression that scotland and england had more of a confederation like agreement. But this whole referendum thing makes me realize how wrong (at least I think) I am.

Scotland will be a rainy foggy paradise. 5 million scots will live better than 30 million english. Lets not talk about investment from foreign companies and states. China is always thirsty for oil, they will be buyer of scottish oil, that will be secure profit for scots. Russia can sell technology and equipment to extract oil, and machines for infranstructure. I see bright future for Great Scotland.

Scotland isn't getting the oil. Name a single citation that says Scotland is going to get North Sea Oil. You wont find one.

Scotland doesn't have to apply for EU, it is already in EU.

Do you even understand treaties or International Law? The British Union is in the EU. Scotland, as part of the UK is. As an independent, it is not. I'm sure the EU will take them, and the EU will put them on a leash like they did to everyone else. The EU will enforce an identical government on Scotland, nothing will change. Scotland will be the same except poorer and with an even worse government. Which is incredible considering the one it has now.

Anyway, even if Scotland go bankrupt after secession, it will be better, because it will be their own misery, atleast they tried, better to grab a chance and try to make a better living than to be english servant for eternity. They should search for their own path. Same applies for Wales and Northern Ireland, they should decide their own future, not London.

That is like calling Eastern Russia a servant to Moscow. Scots get far greater privileges than the English, they get huge subsidies. When they leave, they wont get them anymore, they wont have the oil to pay for them.

The British Isles might split, but it will be unified again. We are one people, divided by the establishment. We will be united under an ethno state when the dust settles.

Everyone except England has its own Parliament. The Union hurts the English the most actually. They get no representation while other states are mass subsidised by the English taxpayers. Wales and Scotland have much greater access to healthcare and education because of this. Not that it does any good, these systems are awfully unsustainable, like most social democratic systems.

Only National Socialism is sustainable for general welfare.

Why wouldnt Russia and China call Scotland to join their alliance? There are Kazakhstan, Brazil, India and South Africa as well. Soon Iran, Syria, Vietnam, Bulgaria and we would like to see Scotland as well.

When british isles split there isnt a chance even inna dream to unify again. That would be over, history. Because british isles were united under english king, after english invasions and oppression. There weren't asked to join as free sovereign states into united kingdom, but forced.

It raised tariffs and taxes to ridiculous numbers and effectively ruled government without the need for a single Southern vote. They also sought to take to seize the ports of the South. The South wanted independence from a government that didnt represent them and utterly destroyed their economy by bleeding it dry unfairly.

Slavery was a common practice across the world for thousands of years. The Ottomans, South America,s East Asians continued it long after the American Civil War or the British banning of it. The slaves of the East were far more brutalised than the slaves of the west who were not only allowed to keep their balls, but were also entitled to a certain standard of living.

Slavery would have ended very soon after the South seceded because without the press gangs of whites conscripted to track and return escaped slaves, the system wouldn't be able to operate. They would escape north and be free. Slaves were being freed at a large rate in the south already, it was a small matter of time.

The American Civil War had nothing to do with slavery and everything to do with Northern industrialists fearing Southern trade and labour. Under his rule, Lincoln enacted policies that even today's President wouldn't dare do... for the moment.

i see your point. yes, i know the civil war wasnt all about slavery (more about states rights. south was based on slave labor economy and traded with other nations. tarrifs to protect home businesses caused the major economic collapse in the south. of ocurse, this is just a very summed up reasoning for the south succeeding. obviously the causes were more complex). i dont see slavery falling in the south quickly. if war did not break out though, im still on the fence if they could have propped themselves up and actually lasted.
