What country has the moral highground? And why? Which country do you think would win in such an engagement? Feel free to debate it here. But please keep it civil!

I think Armenia has a duty to defend its ethnic brothers in their own territory under their control. All this is is a continuation of the armenian genocide being facilitated by turkey and azerbaijan. We have an obligation not only to stand with the armenians but condemn the turks in their violent actions and antics in the region.

What territory... Armenia has occupied it there is no country controlling it...not even Armenia has recognized Qarabag... I would like to see same scenario happening to Cyprus were Greeks go te reclaim the rest of the island... would you still support Turkey that would support it's "ethnic brothers in their own territory under their control".? What a clown of a person you are...

Another Kosovo (Nagorno-Karabakh), nothing new here... Or first kosovo? Since they fight from 1988, 11 years before Kosovo. Two nations clashing over one province while superpowers wait for one side to start winning so they can force them to peace treaty and return to stalemate, so 20 years later hate can be accumulated enough for new war. Already seen. Azerbaijan wanted to give Nagorno to Armenia in 1920 since it doesnt matter who administer it, but Lenin stopped it. Thanks Lenin

Difference is that Turkish Cypriots never wanted the invasion to happen, never wanted their country to split in two, and, for a good part of them, never wanted to be plucked off from their homes in southern Cyprus and forcefully relocated to the north. Cyprus was an invasion by a foreign power, Nagorno-Karabakh was a locals' popular revolt.

I have not made up my mind about it. Both countries are extremely corrupt. Armenia is run by oligarchs just like russia, Azerbeijan is run by a dictator. In political terms, it is in neither's interest to solve this conflict. Both countries political elite benefit from an ongoing conflict in order to gain support and legitimacy from their population. The disputed area has no resources and its population is really low. So neither Baku nor Yerevan actually have anything to gain from it. Over the past few decades wars colluded between the two countries especially at the end of the USSR regime. Although the UN resolution after this war states that the area belongs to Azerbeijzan, in reality the war was won by Armenians since they actually control the area. The disputed area is populated by around 140.000 people (mostly armenian descent) . This however can be debunked, because of the fact that in the 90s war the Armenian army displaced almost all Azeri people from this area. Looking into this conflict objectively there is no 'good' here. Both countries are in my opinion bad. But Empirezz, if you lean towards the Armenian cause in this conflict, the same can be said about the Palestinian cause. Since the land in Israel/ palestine is also givin by the English to the jewish people.

Before commenting, do your research. Now you just sound plain dumb and stupid. https://massispost.com/2011/08/wikileaks-on-armenian-oligarchs-who-controls-what-in-armenia/ https://www.economist.com/europe/2018/04/12/azerbaijans-president-wins-yet-another-term The right to defend your ethnically brothers in another territory by annexing said territory is exactly what hitler did. If you have nothing to contribute then maybe dont open your mouth because you dont sound smart

Because economist.com is reliable source. sure. Man i accumulated more knowledge for my lifetime than you ever will, so lets not go there.. As i said; Godwyn Law, dont mention Hitler if you dont want to autodestroy your argument. Third, talking about oligarchs controlling the country is like talking about birds flying, no sh*t sherlokoff. All nations and mas media are controlled by the wealthy, thats not a newsflash. Fourth, Azerbaijani president is a dictator because - as you post link - he WINS yet another term? WHAT?! On the elections?? Nah man that's impossible, call BLM fast!

ok boomer. Azerbeijzan is not a dictatorship and is a legit democracy. Obviously the Azeri president had legit elections and all opposition joined the election. The North Korean president also won the election. Clearly not a dictatorship then right? Belarus also clearly not a dictatorship since the president had election oh oh. Now wake up and come to the real world. Nothing you said had any backing, so idk why i should continue debating with you. Clearly your reallife job is to troll.

xd most people here voted for armenia only because armenia is christian meanwhile we hate armenia not because of religion but cuz of their behaviours in the last 100 years. brainwashed and armed by russia to rebel and attack turks 100 years ago and now they are attacking azerbaijan whenever they want with russian bombs and support. armenia is spoiled by russia just like greece is by EU

I see you're a man of culture
Armenian behaviour? You mean 2000 years of minding their own business and never hearing bad news coming from there? Armenia literally did nothing and they get their population halved, their country reduced for 80%, their economy ruined in the last 30 years and survived great earthquake in 1988 Man this is why i love reading internet comments, like yours, so biased and hateful toward the innocent.
