[Note to readers... Ignore the spelling mistakes... i have issues with such a problem and i don't have the time right now to correct them...]

alright. im a big fan of stragity games. and i actually love this game becauase its so simple but gives the users such an ability to have multiably different styles of play. and takes in concdiereration of alot of things which is awesome. But i must say... The development team of At-War.. Your game will flopp in the next Year.. by not giving users *BASIC* tools such as Being able to create Games or you call the "game options".. and aswell limiting the creativity of your modding team by charging for the ability to create maps for your game.... down below are reasons why these two options limited will cause your game to fail...

Basic SUMMERY:

basicly you are limiting the community to the bare minimum of the Full game... This is first of all just greedy... By doing this you limit the expansion and growth of you're game dramaticly... This is why the game has a max of 50 games on at once instead of 100's of full ones... you basicly told the users they most pay Money to Help the game out with content... that infact is worse then what EA doe's.. you missed out completely on potental ability to have this game EXPLODE with players and user generated content... that seems to be the main selling point.. you have to think of you're Average user... Would they really spend over 20 euro on a game which is basicly Counter Values, Loop codes, If statements and a few nice background images?.. and for what? you think of your game as a shop.. but you need to concider it more of a Economy in total... When you charge Money for the tools that your game depends on.. you have just killed your economy.. these tools should be completely Open and free to use... because more users will create content for your game and will atract more players to your game... like i could see this game expand into a D&d style game or anything... but you have limited your users.. therefor limited your game...

Game Options:

1. these should be completely free and open without being on the premioum list... its just plain stupid to have to pay for "Game Options"
2. Charge users 10 SP if they want to unlock a Custom map made by someone else...
3. Give the origional creator 2 SP and Dispand the rest to keep the economy of the game Over flowing... and encurages GOOD creators to create more maps.

Modding abilities:
1. The modding tools should eather be able to be unlocked after Rank 5 completely free to use.. and the options th buy it before if they want..
2. to Submit a map to the Open market. the user must pay 10sp to put it on the online lists... He will be paid 2 sp everytime a user Unlocks his map...
3. you may create a map completely free and save it without it being on the online lists... these maps can't be used by anyone else... only the origional creator.

People just don't want to try anything new. Once one game dies they go to another and stick with it till it dies. Once it does they rage asking for money back. Unlike other games At-War has been helping members a lot. For example giving people a chance people 200 Protocoins just for winning a game and giving everyone 50 Protocoins for nothing! Right now At-War has 87278 players. 87278 players x 50 Protocoins = 4363900 Protocoins given away for FREE!

alright.. but you don't seem to get that Those free protocoins cost the company Notting.. its a computer generated value.. the company has lost noting... to them these coins are valualess but to the users they are.. also for gameoptions it costs 5 dollars... ON DEAL.. where its 7 dollars just to get the game options by themselfs by normal value... same with the custom map maker.. it costs over 7 dollars normal value.. so im paying over 14 dollars.. just to get the options i should have to make the game fun.... who in the world would go into a shop in the old days and put down over 30 euro for a game As simple as this.... Dude they are giving away money! How will that cost the company nothing... . You don't need to pay to unlock the map making functions and game options if you don't want to. Nobody is forcing you. Its your need to play and inability to pay that made you create this topic.

It feels wrong to shoot down criticism just like that. Criticism isn't exactly a bad thing especially constructive criticism.

Some of his recommendations aren't actually that ridiculous at all. He is pointing out that a lot of players that join the game end up only staying for a couple of weeks. His suggestion of unlocking features (game options, not upgrades) to all players as they rank up will keep future players striving to play for more than just a couple of weeks. Of course we would first need to distinguish exactly what it is that's turning new players away from the game (not just from one player) before anything can be done to address the issue.

Also, I do agree with the cost of premium features being pricey which I don't actually understand why it is like that because if it's anything to do with trying to make an income out of the game it will probably function better if the overall cost is lowered which may attract even larger groups of players to consider buying premium.

I'm sure that you are aware that the things that Prophic mentioned are not the only problems that AW currently holds which of course may be understandable as the dev team is considerable small and rather inexperienced when it comes to managing a game. Don't take the last part the wrong way. You guys are not exactly elites. However, it would be good if continuous improvements are made to the game. I'd love to talk about the things indepth instead of making a quick, short post here if you guys are interested to what I personally think some of the current concerns are. I just hope you guys are more open-minded and won't instantly shoot me down like you've done to poor Prophic here.

EDIT:
Like any problem, the cause of the problem has to be identified and acknowledged before anything can be done to remove or fix it instead of disregarding it and assuming it to be part of the game. I hope you realise that. I apologise if the tone used was anywhere near condescending.

All This game is costing the Developers is Bandwith... WHICH Is quite cheap..

the Promo coins are complete generated Without costing a cent..
its not like they had to buy them to resell. they simple Just made up a fake currency.. that you are alowed to switch your real money for...

They sell you money...
Its completely free for them.. and any exspence you are in bandwidth Is already costed... but making them an unlock able after a few ranks.. The game could make much more money From ad's and options to purchase it.. and if players stay around a Game for longer.. they will be more inclined to Actually purchase something from it.

so you get the growth of players and most of them would be perminite Players.. with ad money and people more interested in buying stuff for the game... there is no loosing..

well, me and other people pay up to 20 dollards for games like risk and axis and allies, this game should cost up to 60 dollars then, cuz i can make my own maps and play online for free.

btw, so if i pay 20 bucks for full premium , then admins decide to give premium for free, how do u think me and all the rest of the premium community will feel?, why your greedy and only think about yourself, just buy the game options cor 4 bucks and play the damn game jeez.

Now that was a dead giveaway! Clearly Prophic is an expert in an online gaming industry, he just deliberately posts loads of BS so that we won't ever know his secrets. Very clever tactics indeed!

im not offending you.. or trying. i fucking love this game... This is a Tip and Suggestion area. and you just insult someone who is trying to help out.. wtf.

no im not a expert in the game industry. but nether are ye...
your Game is basally If statements.. >=, <= Else if, loops, Timers and simple basic coding...

you've manage to pull them Off nicely.. and im trying to suggest financially This hasn't costed you as much as a Big - end game... So why charge like one?

Leave the forum please, go to play AtWar.

You're stating that I'm insulting you and then you say this. This is probably the biggest possible insult you could've came up with. In fact it's so insulting that I'm feeling obliged to say go fuck yourself, Prophic. But since I know you didn't really mean it and only said it because you don't know shit about game development, I forgive you. You may now continue posting your stupid advices as I find them quite entertaining, in a weird way.

how the fuck is that an Insult? i just said your game is basicly Programming. are you so ignorent and up yourself that you Cant take "CONSTRUCTIVE CRITIZEM" i know there has been work put into this. but its not at the same level as a 3 dementional or graphical powered game.. By giving it out. and getting your profits from Ad's and Optional purchase.. Instead of Cutting the game put and selling parts.. you Would make such a fortune for those Ill paition'd kids who play and have their parents credit card (A joke just in case your going to pull this out my ass)

why not take a step back. Read over it. and stop trying to be overwelmd with simple advice Which has proven profits..
another example is a App game called Angry birds.. When it was given for free and placed ad's on it.. along side additional things... the game now makes More in a week then it did when it charged people to play..

and yes i do know my shit... i am in a level 6 Game development course studing C++, C, JAVA, unity, UDK, along side the required Web development and networking... so go shove that up your admin ass...

This is the last time i try fucking help ye...
