Stay on topic, but the answer to this question is why would I sell my soul to myself?

Why do some mods act with a clear bias towards certain players and why are their actions tolerated by other mods?

If you mean bias as in giving out harsher treatments to certain players vs. others:
We tend to follow that the more problem a player cause, the harsher the punishment. Also, our memories do not reset each day; therefore, we remember. Even if we do forget, there is the players history to show mods the players past.

If you mean preferential treatment for other player:
then I do not know what you are talking about, because no mod that I know of do that.

What guidelines do you follow to when you(mod) is being accused of preferential treatment ? Also what steps do you take to be neutral and unbiased in your role especially when your friends are involved ?

Not all mods are at their keyboards waiting for something to happen. I for one just have my laptop on and moderate while I type out my upcoming book.
Every now and then I look back and if I do get reports I deal with them. Of couse I sit AFK in the lobby which means I quite frequently miss prs and reports.

1st Question: We do not currently have any written guidelines on how to handle such a situation, but as far as I know mods are mature enough to give out fair and equal punishments regardless of personal ties to a person.

2nd Question: I'm speaking for myself here, but if I am forced to ban/mute a friend I generally try and give out equal punishment. Most of my friends are too terrible though so they normally get 24hrs to 1 week mutes max *stares at death*.

Why are mods so cruel, unfriendly, harsh, poisonous, heartbreaking, stone cold, etc. to simple mortals such as me? I think I made all the praying to mods I was supposed to do

Second question: What kind of government would AW be politically talking?

Third: Would any mod ever admit being bias in the theoretical case he is behaving that way? (Pls, don't think I'm acusing anyone of being that way) And would there be any meassure against that person?
----
Don't ever look down on someone unless you're helping him up. Don't ever treat someone else the way you wouldn't want others to treat you.

Meester, being the sexiest mod, were other mods envious of you? Just kidding, i know you said serious questions only, and though i think this is a serious question, perhaps others will not think so... But i have to ask, what is the most difficult part of being a mod... i.e. what gives you the 'biggest face palm' reaction, or causes the most frustration for you?

isn't it easier for a mod to just ford the complaint to another mod who doesn't know the person that well so it's impossible to give preferential treatment as it's rather common for biased to happen if you know the person (for better or worse) understandably with atwar being the small community it is this can't always happen but wouldn't it go towards stopping players from screaming that they are getting picked on by a specific mod?
