We are now introducing zero tolerance approach towards all types of exploits and hacks (and yes, this includes the black colour, so please don't moan about it in comments, it may be added later to the palette). Anyone caught using inspect element, javascript, link hacking, XSS, you name it - will initially be banned for one week. If you get caught for the second time - you WILL be banned for life. No excuses, no exceptions. Thank you very much, please play fair!

So many noobs bitching about geting banned about shit they can easily just not do and follow the rules, its like some of u are just looking to bitch about anything,

Don't talk about shit you don't understand. Admins have been AFK for fucking months and all of a sudden they expect everyone to quit their habits?
I'm not the kind of person to hack anyway, but in such a poorly programmed game with absent owners, it's to be expected.
The point I'm making is they can't just impose strict bans instantly without a backlash.... and it's all their fault for being so absent in the first place...

That said, they have made improvements, installing cloudflare and paying attention to silverlight map editor are good first steps. But there's a lot to be done. Banning people left right and centre isn't one of them.

this logic = i'm smoking weed today and the laws doesn't prevent me from doing so yet some policeman that hates me arrested me for and said that smoking weed is not allowed, i went to court to ask for justice and i when my date came after 30 day of court dates the president comes and say "since today smoking weed is not allowed so dont complain about that if you have been arrested before i have published this law that i didnt write yet ty"

You have no control over whether or not people take it badly... Or what kind of effect that negative reaction might have on potential new customers.

It's not the crack down on hacking that's the issue... That's a good thing.

The issue is how you go about stopping them after you let them get away with it for so long...

I mean while we're on the subject of breaking the rules... why don't we just go through all the forums and ban every poor fucker who swore over the last 2 years while we're at it?

Hacking is not an addiction (AFAIK), so yeah whoever's been doing it for all this time can just stop. It's not heroin, there's no need for a rehab. I don't get why you're so against the new strict policy. Don't hack and don't get banned. Were hacking before? Stop immediately or get banned. I don't have any sympathy for hackers, so don't see why they deserve a more gradual reform. I'm not that worried about people swearing. Anyway, the new rules are in place, resistance is futile. Hackers, exploiters, cheaters, DDoSers are the bane of my life, so as far as I'm concerned, they can go and pluck themselves.

It's just inspect element, no one except the ddoser have been doing any real hacking. The whole issue will be fixed once the inspect element vulnerabilities have been fixed; I think you or your brother said that they were already fixed. Phoenix is just asking that people not be banned for just messing around with inspect element code. They can get a few days warning or ban, but a perma-ban is unfair to people who have paid for this game.

Okay from the top...

If you don't want to be more lenient towards minor offences, then no one can stop you. But you can't package someone that DDOS's the site with someone that edits publicly available code in their fucking web browser...

Besides, aren't the same people that have those skills the same people that helped you patch this shit in the first place?

A lot of these "hacks" have been around for a long ass time. If you gave a shit over the past 2 years you would have found a fix, rather than punishing not only your fans, but the people that pay the bills because suddenly you started eating cornflakes for breakfast.

The only other organisation I can recall that hands out one size fits all punishments like this is fucking ISIS.

Amokhu Akbar!

Edit: I love your new "STOP" sign. That must be a pretty big bowl of cornflakes...
(before you ask, I was actually going to look at the code and try to think of ways to stop those "hacks" from happening, because HTML is notorious for being near impossible to obfuscate in a practical way. seems you already did it)

Stop being such a drama queen. Most of us have played this game for years without hacking or abusing /exploiting bugs. It's not exactly a big ask to expect players not to fuck with the game. Most games employ a hard line against hackers and cheaters anyway. As far as im concerned 1 week is too lenient. 2 weeks to a month for the first then byebye for the 2nd would be more like it.

Anyway stop badgering the admins about stupid shit. If you're going to go off composing essay length posts then do it for more productive causes.

In response to the post before me on this stuff. 1st, i am not computer literate pertaining to the hack stuff. i agree with the banning of anybody altering the game in anyway other than the owners. there should be no question about that at all. the phoenix dude that is jamming up the owner about if he cared for the last couple years he would have fixed whatever he should have fixed. fuck, its his game. it probably cost money to do all this shit. this doesnt look to me like a money making kind of game. there are no ads to sell there is probably no promotion of the game to sell any ads. premium probably only buys him a couple of freakin cords and a six pack. get on the sun dude to get busy marketing the game. instead of bitching about stuff maybe an effort can be made by some of these people to come up with ideas to get more players and keep them. help this fellow to make some money so he can fix the game to your liking. and as far loachra's idea about essay length posts. make the post room like twitter. any body that writes more than 150 characters, gets sent to the pit of misery. dilly, dilly.

Ban the ones that force start games via hacking, or that force ally/peace/duel; no need to ban the others. Using inspect element once to change starting game income or time (when you are host) isn't cause for a perma-ban

I say put black in top 20 instead of this color

no one likes this color anyways and when we are forced to play with it it just bothers our eyes. black walls are hard to spot sometimes but so are other important colors like blue and dark green. eventually black color is amongst the most popular colors of the community so even if it has some minor flaws it's not that big deal.

Admins have full right to ban even WITHOUT reason. So it doesn't matter if you buy premium. you agree to the TOS

If they want to be pricks they can.

Pretty sure it would break some kind of law over purchase in the UK

When you install a program, there is a license saying : "I have no fault if this program destroys your machine, please proceed". After you agree to this, you shouldn't complain what happens next. It is the same with atWar. Even when you have premium, if you abuse, they can PERM ban you without thinking much. In fact, admins can perm ban premium players for no reason and get away with it.

You call using inspect element a hack?
Get a fucking grip. Go read what I've been saying properly. I read your essay out of courtesy...

Punishing people for picking black color or making a 1k start fund game is not cheating, its having a bit of fun with harmless code.

How does that justify the same kind of punishment as a range hack?

Bump. IE abuses will be treated with harshness, and all players should know that it will NOT be tolerated. I say this so that everyone can have fair warning not to tamper with source code, or to abuse the features on the game in anyway.

Hopefully everyone can enjoy the game the way it was meant to be played

Cheers!
