Good news for those of you who can't keep up with the break-neck pace of the 2-min turn games or don't have time to play for several hours non-stop. Today we unveil "casual" games - with 12-24 hour turns! Everything works the same as in regular games - except the turn length and the ability to safely leave the game and come back the next day to continue it.
New lobby filter
There's a new switch in the lobby for quick/casual games. Each type also has 3 rooms - Main, Beginners and Coalition Wars (which means 6 rooms in total). If you change the type during the game, it will be automatically moved to the appropriate room - for example, if you change turn length from 4 minutes to 12 hours, this game will be moved to the Casual Main room. Old filters are still available if you click the 'show filters' link in the middle.
In casual game, you can make your movements at any time within the 12h/24h period - then click 'end turn' to save your actions and either close the browser window or use the 'Go to Lobby' button in the new exit menu. Once the timer has expired or all players ended their turns, a new turn will start - at this point e-mail notifications will be sent out to players.
If you have valid e-mail in your profile and haven't disabled notifications in your settings, you will receive e-mail when new turn starts in casual games. Very useful
New exit menu
Now when you click the exit button in the game a new menu will appear with 3 options - Surrender, Abandon and Go to Lobby. Abandon means you're not planning to come back - by quitting in this manner you will lose all earned SP. 'Go to Lobby' is only available in casual games and is a 'safe' way to exit the game if you're planning to continue it.
In both game types it's now possible to join immediately, without having to wait for the next turn - although you won't get reinforcements until the next turn. Instant join can be disabled in game options (also during the game).
Press 'end turn' - continue moving troops
In both game types you can now continue moving your troops after clicking 'end turn' (if still waiting for other players). You can use the 'save turn' button afterwards, but if the turn ends in the middle of your actions, they should still be saved (theoretically).
